How would a reasonable person build credit and not have to pay interest and finance charges?
- Pay in FULL your balance due. If not possible then pay more than the “total minimum due.”
- Don’t skip any monthly payments
- Pay full in balance if possible. If you can’t pay full balance, then a person should not be spending that amount of money in a given month.
- DO NOT exceed your credit limit.
- Use online banking.
- Check your online statements at least weekly (there can be instances where restaurants/bars overly charge you)
- Try to keep a minimal # of credit cards in your wallet (1-2)
- If you misplace your credit card, take your time to find it. Try to not assume that you lost it. If you cancel it, your credit score will be affected in some manner. Credit card companies allow you to suspend the card temporarily.
- When you travel to a different city or country, it is beneficial to call your company and let them know where you will be using the card, to prevent the company from preventing you from using it, in their effort to prevent fraud.
