In response to USA Today “Big Three Play as One”
I honestly do not like it when franchises throw out their cash to high dollar players. For some reason especially for basketball and baseball; however, for football it’s different maybe because its a 56 man roster. Even though, I have not followed the Celtics that much this year because I knew their hype would lead them far. They have backed up their hype to this day, especially after tonight’s win. Some superstars need the right team model, coach, environment, and even their FANS. Right now, the Lakers and the Celtics are the “sh*t”. But who’s the “prettier sh*t” we will see by the next two weeks. This series will definitely grind out to the end. Kobe won’t go out without a fight. And yes I do now believe that the Celtics are about playing as a team because that’s how they got there. If each of those Big 3 were selfish, then they obviously would not be in the Finals. In addition, if they were selfish, they definitely wouldnt being playing DEFENSE. Which is what the Mavericks lack. I am not diverting my allegiance, thus I give no prediction for the Finals this year.
One prime example: Terrell Owens and the Cowboys. Yes T.O. had McNabb in Philly but they only got along in the beginning because DM could actually target T.O., but then when DM sucked it up being hurt and not a leader…T.O. yea was selfish but was not in a conducive environment to make himself and his team to improve. So luckily, he signed with Dallas and again with a new extension. It does not matter if you are a fan of America’s team, but you must recognize the scale of improvement in T.O.’s personality and attitude toward his teammates and coaches. And there are more pages to write in the Cowboys books. So we will leave it at that.
